The Amundi Evian Championship is the second biggest major on the Women’s European Circuit, boasting some of the biggest golfing talent in the world.

The Amundi Evian Championship overview

Held in the beautiful Evian-les-Bains resort every summer, this year’s edition saw Canadian Brooke Henderson pip Schubert and Ko to the title. With some of the biggest partners in the world, such as Amundi, Rolex and Veuve Cliquot, they required a solution of the same standard of athletes and partners.

Challenges faced

The Amundi Evian team decided on ScorePlay as it is a platform dedicated to sports workflows. This would allow them to give their biggest stakeholders a first class experience with the best media asset manager for the sports industry. Their tournament has an huge influx of assets that require centralisation, classification and distribution, that would allow the brand to be further amplified. Spearheaded by their comms team, Fabien Jacqueline and Luca Dellosta, the team upgraded their digital strategy with an infrastructure that would allow them to innovate and create meaningful relationships with both partners and fans.

They required a media asset management platform that would offer them easy access and searchability of their content, centralise their collaboration, optimise their distribution to athletes, as well as their partners and allow them to integrate their live broadcast to their platform. The Amundi Evian Championship chose ScorePlay as their official media asset manager in summer 2022, after a highly successful trial at the 2022 edition. From internal teams, to athletes, partners and even guest VIPs, the tool allowed them to be flexible in their online strategy and provide a first class experience for everyone. Among others, ScorePlay gave them:

  • Calendar integration for automated sorting and organisation

  • Live ingestion of assets with the use ScorePlay’s FTP connector directly from photographer’s camera

  • Automatic distribution to athletes and partners directly through the ScorePlay app

  • Live broadcast feature that allowed them to keep a record of their tournament ready to be archived

During their tournaments and qualifiers, The Amundi Evian Championship produced around 20,000 assets, with their athletes and partners looking to post and download assets in order to leverage the popularity of the competition. They used the Athlete App to be able to get their pictures immediately from photographers and post directly to social media with just one click. Their partners were notified of any tagged collection of assets and could access them directly through their dedicated access. For their multiple partner and VIP events, they were able to distribute content to these high profile figures to boost their brand even further.

With over 95 users over the course of the tournament, all of their teams could take advantage of the the all-in-one media tool: from marketing, to comms and sales.
